Privacy Policy

Dotty is a mobile intuition game developed and published independently. This policy explains what information is collected when you play Dotty, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

Dotty does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, or any contact details. The information described below is limited to what is necessary to operate the app and show advertising.

Leaderboard submissions. If you choose to submit a score to the public leaderboard, you provide a display name (up to three characters) and your score. These are stored on our server and are publicly visible. Submission is entirely optional.

Device and usage data collected by third-party SDKs. The app uses two third-party services that may collect data on our behalf:

Google AdMob — serves interstitial advertisements to players who have not purchased the ad-free upgrade. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and in-app event data to deliver and measure ads. On iOS, AdMob only uses data for targeted advertising if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you decline, contextual (non-personalised) ads are shown instead. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
RevenueCat — manages the one-time "Remove Ads" in-app purchase and validates your receipt with Apple or Google. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous user identifier and your purchase history for this app only. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

2. App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On iOS 14.5 and later, Dotty presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any advertising data is collected. If you tap Allow Tracking, AdMob may use your device identifier to show personalised ads. If you tap Ask App Not to Track, only contextual (non-personalised) ads are shown and no cross-app tracking occurs. You can change this choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

3. How we use information

To display your score on the public leaderboard (if you submit it).
To serve advertisements to players who have not purchased the ad-free upgrade.
To verify and restore your "Remove Ads" purchase across devices.
To operate and improve the game.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with the third-party services listed above (Google AdMob and RevenueCat) to the extent necessary for them to perform their functions, and with Apple or Google as required to process in-app purchases.

5. Data retention

Leaderboard entries are retained indefinitely but contain no personal identifiers beyond the display name you choose. You can contact us to request removal of a specific entry. Game progress and settings are stored locally on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the app.

6. Children

Dotty is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through the leaderboard, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the address below. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Dotty after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
